Fix no audio in Cab-Lab 4 'Software Live Mode' under Mac OSUpdated 6 months ago

Cab-Lab 4 uses Mac OS system audio to perform Software Live Mode auditioning.

This allows you to hear mic and mix changes in real time, replicating how the process of miking an amp works with analog gear.

Software Live Mode requires an audio interface. A connected Axe-Fx III, FM9, or FM3 is the perfect choice. The Cab-Lab manual provides additional details.

In addition, Cab-Lab 4 requires Mac OS Security settings permission to access system audio.

If Cab-Lab Software Live Mode is silent for you, check the following setting on Mac OS:

  • Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click Privacy & Security  in the sidebar. (You may need to scroll down.)
  • Click Microphone on the right.
  • Turn access to the microphone for Cab-Lab 4

If you later turn this off, you will be asked to turn it on again the next time that Cab-Lab tries to use system audio.
